Dr. Cagatay Koc width= Assistant Professor of Economics

Ph.D., The University of Texas at Austin, 2000

Dr. Cagatay Koc began serving as an Assistant Professor of economics at The University of Texas at Arlington  in June 2005.  He received his Ph.D. from The University of Texas at Austin in 2000.  Prior to joining UTA’s economics faculty, he was an adjunct assistant professor at Columbia University and a consulting economist at National Economic Research Associates, both in New York.  One aspect of Professor Koc’s current research deals with the econometric estimation of moral hazard in the demand for medical care.  Another facet of his current research deals with modeling the interdependent decisions of medical care and health insurance and establishing the theoretical implications of this interdependence for consumer behavior, with an emphasis on the ensuing implications for empirical testing.  He also does theoretical and empirical research on the demand for financial assets such as housing and bonds under intertemporal uncertainty.
