Welcome
Welcome to the Department of Economics at The University of Texas at Arlington. We are a part of The College of Business Administration (COBA), and offer an undergraduate economics degree leading to a Bachelor of Science or a Bachelor of Arts degree. A Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a concentration in economics is also available. The Master of Arts is an applied economics program, and a Ph.D. in Business Administration with a concentration in economics is also available.
The campus is in Arlington, Texas, the heart
of the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, equidistant from each city.Arlington hosts several tourist attractions, including Six Flags Over
Texas and Texas Rangers Baseball.
In addition, the campus and Metroplex areas
offer a wide variety of cultural and recreational facilities including art,
historical and science museums, professional sports, and two world-class
performance halls (Bass in Ft. Worth, Meyerson in Dallas) which host symphony
orchestra concerts, opera, ballet, and theater.
There are many major employers in the area who hire our graduates, and
both our undergraduate and graduate students have been successful at finding
employment.
The
academic staff are actively engaged in economic research which is published in a
wide range of active journals and textbooks.
